Rick DeJesus of Adelitas Way joins Caleb Hyles on “FEAR”

Rick DeJesus, lead singer and songwriter of Las Vegas hard-rock band Adelitas Way, joins Caleb Hyles and Judge & Jury on “FEAR.” The collaboration combines DeJesus’ gritty Active Rock delivery with Hyles’ soaring theatrical vocals and the polished weight of the Judge & Jury production team.

Released on February 28, 2025, “FEAR” opens Caleb Hyles’ album The Darkness Before the Dawn. The song confronts anxiety, depression and the hidden ways fear can control a person, balancing that darkness with a message of faith, resistance and the possibility of finding a way forward.

About Adelitas Way

Adelitas Way formed in Las Vegas in 2006 and built an early following through high-energy local performances. Fronted by vocalist and songwriter Rick DeJesus, the band broke into the mainstream with “Invincible” from its 2009 self-titled debut. The song became a Top 5 Active Rock single, earned Gold certification and reached audiences through WWE, major sports broadcasts, television and video games.

The 2011 album Home School Valedictorian expanded that momentum with four Top 5 Active Rock singles, including the chart-topping “Alive” and “Criticize.” Adelitas Way later embraced an independent path, releasing albums including Getaway, Notorious, Shine On and Power while continuing to tour with artists such as Guns N’ Roses, Shinedown, Creed, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin and Theory of a Deadman.

Adelitas Way’s musical style blends hard rock, post-grunge, alternative metal and melodic Active Rock. Heavy guitar riffs and muscular rhythms support hook-driven choruses, while DeJesus moves between a rough-edged lower register and an anthemic melodic delivery. That combination makes his voice a natural fit for the dramatic modern-rock sound of “FEAR.”

“FEAR” brings two distinct vocal identities together: Caleb Hyles’ wide-ranging, cinematic metal style and Rick DeJesus’ experience fronting one of modern Active Rock’s enduring independent bands. Rather than treating Adelitas Way as a background feature, the recording gives DeJesus a lead-vocal role alongside Hyles, turning the track into a true duet.

The collaboration also connects Adelitas Way’s radio-ready hard-rock foundation with Caleb Hyles’ ongoing work with Judge & Jury Records. Producers Howard Benson, Neil Sanderson and Joe Rickard shaped a dense, melodic arrangement that gives both singers room to move from tense verses into a large, defiant chorus. As the album’s opening track, “FEAR” establishes The Darkness Before the Dawn as a record about enduring difficult emotional seasons without surrendering to them.
