Candlebox vocalist Kevin Martin joins Saliva and Judge & Jury on “Horizon: Retold,” bringing his powerful, soulful voice to a song rooted in hard rock, alternative rock and post-grunge.
Released on January 31, 2025 as part of Saliva's album Revelation: Retold, the collaboration explores change, hope and guiding someone through life's hardest moments. The official music video premiered on February 12, 2025.

About Candlebox
Candlebox is a multi-platinum Seattle rock band formed in 1990 and led by founding vocalist Kevin Martin. The group helped define the emotionally charged alternative-rock and grunge sound of the early 1990s, breaking through with its self-titled 1993 debut.
That album introduced enduring songs including “Far Behind,” “You,” “Cover Me” and “Change.” Candlebox's catalog later expanded through Lucy, Happy Pills, Into the Sun, Wolves and 2023's The Long Goodbye.
Candlebox's musical style blends grunge, hard rock, blues-rock, alternative rock and post-grunge. Heavy guitars and dynamic arrangements support Martin's distinctive voice, which can move from intimate restraint to full-throated intensity.
The history behind the Saliva and Candlebox collaboration
Saliva vocalist Bobby Amaru described “Horizon” as one of the most personal songs on the record. Its lyrics offer hope, belonging and reassurance to someone who feels lost or alone. Amaru had admired Candlebox for years, and Kevin Martin's performance brought another emotional dimension to the song.
The collaboration also carries the legacy of late Saliva guitarist Wayne Swinny, who helped write “Horizon” and improvised much of its expressive guitar layering. After Swinny's passing, the song's message took on deeper significance.
The official video uses previously unseen footage of Swinny, connecting the collaboration's uplifting message with Saliva's history and the bond between the musicians.
